Digging Into Community

We are really leaning into this idea of Digging into Community.  It is our mantra for 2025.   So much feels unknown, but focusing our energy here, in Craftsbury, Albany and our surrounding communities feels so good.  Let’s not forget that this type of energy has a ripple effect.  The little things we all do to help our neighbors is everything right now.  Let’s support our local food pantries, go watch a high school basketball game, shovel our neighbor’s driveway.  Let’s look out for each other regardless of all the things the world is throwing at us to divide us.  We are hoping to make these emails weekly, something you all can count on.  Feel free to email us with the things you want to see here at the Genny or maybe an event idea for the community room in Albany.  We are all ears!! In the meantime here are some things we are working on.

As many of you know, we offer free Genny Meals to our community.  We currently sponsor 5 per day from each location, but would love to offer more.  If you are interested in supporting this effort there are a couple of ways to do so.  You can make a donation to the Albany Community Trust with “Genny Meals” in the memo and will receive a tax deductible receipt.  These gifts will help feed our friends and neighbors at The Albany Genny. At either location you can also purchase a $10 pay-it-forward Genny Meal at the register. These purchases will allow us to offer more free meals in these uncertain times.

Events in the Albany Community Room are taking off!  We are open to all ideas for how to utilize this space. Do you have a skill or interest you’d like to share? Give us a shout to pitch your idea and check out the February calendar to see what’s already on the docket.

We are especially excited about the upcoming dance classes happening at the Albany Town Hall. We were able to work with our friend Maura to make this happen.

The closure of our local pharmacy has left a huge resource gap in our community, so we are bulking up our Health and Beauty aisle to offer more of the wellness essentials you rely on.

Let us know what products you'd like to see on the shelves to save you a trip to town!

We are so grateful for the consistent snow this winter! We love seeing our community playing outside, and welcoming visitors to enjoy our beautiful natural playground.

With Love,

The Genny
