Casata Montfort Trentino Pinot Nero

Ah, Italian Pinot Noir… In Trentino Pinot Nero is adaptive only in a few areas. Monfort's Pinot Nero grapes are grown in a hilly area in Cirè di Pergine in Valsugana. The soils here are sandy and pebbly, and the fruit is Guyot-trained. Fermentation begins on the skins before malolactic occurs and a refining in small French oak barriques for more than one year and then in bottle for a further six months of aging. The wine has an intense and pleasant bouquet of flavors with sour cherries, raspberries and cranberries following one another on the palate. The palate is fresh and agreeable with a long, deep, spicy finish. Your Thanksgiving red for sure!
