Kolfolk Intra! The Wild
This is a super fun bottle! Winemaker Stefan Wellanschitz abandoned the tradition of his family’s 19th-century vineyard to explore a more natural style. This wine, mostly Gruner Veltliner with some Welschriesling, is fermented as whole grapes before being pressed. It’s skin-contact but not. The result is a super smooth, bright, citrus sip highlighted by stone fruit and flowers. The process provides a body and texture that means this wine could stand up to some heatier pairings.
