Martha Stoumen Post Flirtation White, 2020

After studying agricultural systems and Italian, Martha went to work at a small farm, olive orchard, and vineyard in Tuscany. She later apprenticed under renowned winemakers and in 2014 created Martha Stoumen Wines. Always recognizing that wine is an agricultural product, she and her team emphasize the importance of growing the best grapes –sustainably, ethically, and organically– in order to create the best wine without additives. Their goal is to capture “the flavor of California” and this bottle is just that: bright, slightly sweet, juicy, with a hint of its wild yeasts. As the winery says, “this thirst-quenching blend tastes like a margarita and a light white wine went on a date and got a tamari glazed dulce de leche for dessert. Lively aromas of grapefruit oil and salty clay mingle for a slightly spritzed sipper that meets you where you’re at.” We certainly had Spring in mind while selecting this and yes, there may be snow coming this weekend, but the sun will be coming soon enough! Try this bottle with something light and fresh like this lemongrass chicken noodle bowl or these summery fish tacos (here’s to hoping, right?).
