Gaspard Chenin Blanc, 2018
France’s Loire Valley is one of the premier winemaking regions of the world. It’s known for Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, and this bottle’s varietal: Chenin Blanc. This wine is lean and dry. It has a fair share of fruit flavor (honeydew, pear, and citrus) but not the fruity sweetness. In fact, it’s quite acidic. The 2018 vintage is the most popular from this label, according to user ratings on Vivino. Considering all of this, we recommend pairing it with a similarly fresh Spring salad with crumbled soft goat cheese. It could even go well with one of The Genny’s coconut curries.
