Musings From The Genny: Week of March 24th

Oh the world of grocery… From the perspective of general store owners, it is a beast to navigate. Over the last 12 years we have made some historic moves to better serve our community. One of those was moving to Associated Grocers as our main distributor. This was a game changer for us, and took A LOT of negotiating and proving our worth in the biz. But, it has certainly paid off.  We now have the buying power of a large cooperative and can ultimately offer our customers far better pricing on conventional and natural grocery as well as produce. Our goal is really to be your neighborhood grocer in Craftsbury, and while limited on space in Albany, we want to offer great value to our community and save them the trip out of town.

But, we have news for you…even better pricing is coming your way!!!  We recently became members of INFRA (Independent Natural Food Retail Association).  Over the next month you will begin to see new sales on natural food items, and in the beginning of May, we will launch our everyday low price program with Cadia. Please don’t hesitate to let us know the items you want us to carry in either of our stores. We want to have what you need, and are committed to that. Our new sale flyer will be included in next week’s newsletter, so stay tuned :)

Thanks for shopping local!! There’s no better time than now to keep your dollars in the community. We are committed to buying as much as we can from our local market, which, even now, is nearly 30 percent of what we carry.
